Ficlets!

When I wrote this post a little while back about being stuck, some folks gave me the excellent advice of writing something slightly cracky and playful...

Three Maids and an Angel (Don’t Walk Into a Bar)

Three Aziraphale-centric GO Crossovers in Three Ficlets.
Rating: PG on principle.
Summary: Little girls everywhere get warned about the dangers of harmless-looking strange gentlemen, but no one ever warns such a “gentleman” about very strange girls.

The first was inspired by a prompt from [livejournal.com profile] catherinecookmn. The second by a convo with [livejournal.com profile] scholar_asriel. The third is dedicated to the memory of one of my favorite writers when I was a kid--I might not love stories so much without her.

...that has such people in it... )

Gotta go out real soon (don't wanna!), but enjoy while I'm gone!

The current challenge at [livejournal.com profile] snape100 is a HOOT - you plug "Severus Snape" into the Random Fact Generator (clearly based on the Chuck Norris Facts list) and write a drabble about what you get. Here's mine, posted to both the LJ and IJ versions of the comm earlier.

The Domestic Desperado

Challenge: Random Facts About Severus Snape
Words: 100
Pairing: Snape/Luna
Rating: PG-13, I think.

DH spoilerss, preciousss. Prompt and drabble both here )

Damn, I need more writing mojo. I've been so tired lately. Chronic anxiety will do that.

Woe! I so wanted to go to a neighborhood rock festival today...alas, Evil Uterus Overlord says: "No standing for hours for you!"

Oh well. Not that there aren't things to keep me busy here.

So, a couple days ago I suggested folks making posts to their alternative journals that aren't cross-posted to LJ (but are linked). Reason being, I find it hard to maintain enthusiasm for the others if there's nothing there but posts I've already seen on LJ. And, y'know, to get friends to make backup journals, we've already had plenty of stick; I think we deserve a little carrot.

I've got a snippet from a HP WIP - the still un-titled but now BACK-in-progress sixth story in the Ravenous Series.

at GreatestJournal.

at InsaneJournal.

This story was begun in 2003, so no DH spoilers (or OotP or HBP spoilers/compliance, for that matter!). This snippet is G or PG and features Dumbledore, Animagus!Snape, lots of cats, and an OC (or is he?)

Once again, I'm vulgarweed at GreatestJournal and now, InsaneJournal too. Friend at will. There's also a mirror of switchythings at GJ, and soon there will be of go_exchange as well.

Still been a craptastic week, but I still managed to get a few straggling birthday drabbles written. More forthcoming!

For [livejournal.com profile] maelipstick: HP - Snape/Lupin, a skin-care product with mysterious ingredients (Rather DH-compliant, if irreverent, so SPOILERZ. Also risque.)

For [livejournal.com profile] dreya_uberwald: GO - something with Hastur and Ligur (tasteless reference to recent real-world events my own responsibility)

For [livejournal.com profile] waxbean: HP - Hermione/Snape - a glimpse of a continuation from the "Ravenous" universe.

Lessons learned from rock festivals? I don't care how hot it is, it's still physically impossible for me to stay grumpy while Sonic Youth is playing. Even if it's not one of their best nights.

Also: strapless bras are great in theory, but there must be some art to wearing them that I have never mastered, because I've never found one that doesn't migrate towards my waist, dragging my boobs down with it and making them look saggy when they aren't, and isn't that the very opposite of what a bra is supposed to do?

Appropos of nothing, from "Old Possum's Book of IMpractical Cats": I'm in love with these guys. Little cuddly kits are great but I want a Viking lynx!

I've written three more birthday drabbles, all of a crossovery flavo[u]r.

For [livejournal.com profile] vivien529: A GO/HP drabble (Minerva thinks that angel's got a little Slytherin in him!)

For [livejournal.com profile] signifier (who I get to see in August!): J.K. Rowling via J.L. Borges - Snape and the Aleph (also owes a conceptual debt to "The Three Versions of Judas")

For [livejournal.com profile] blueeyedtigress (who I get to see tomorrow!): GO/LOTR - Aziraphale and Crowley having a cuppa with Frodo

Productive? I think so.

Snape's birthday, is it? That's what Jo (and much of my friendslist) says.

So my first entry to [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis's Porn Battle might as well be a Harry/Hermione/Snape threesome, eh? (As much drama as pr0n, I'm afraid).

ETA: OMG! It is also the magnificent [livejournal.com profile] lillithj's birthday! I dedicate this smutlet to you!

Have a het smutfic, slightly redolent of crack.

Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] catherinecookmn. I dedicate this to you.

[livejournal.com profile] 30_lemons prompt #27: The Mile-High Club

30 Minutes Over Kandahar

Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Severus Snape /Minerva McGonagall
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Why are flying carpets banned by the British Ministry of Magic? Warnings for gratuitous political potshots and reckless disregard of timeline, atmospheric science, and physics. Also vertigo, a little hint of erotic asphyxiation (altitude!) and a spot of Animagus bestiality.

Revenge for the Great Game? )

Whee! Don't you want to try it now?

Well, for a certain value of "honor"...also inspired by a rant at [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants about how stupid it is to send the Harry Potter cast to a Muggle horse race in Kentucky. I agree. My alternative.

Not posted to [livejournal.com profile] snape100; doesn't fit the current challenge. Death Eaters behaving badly!

Breeding Counts

Words: 100
Rating: PG
Characters: Lucius, Blaise, Snape
Summary: In which Lucius demonstrates why he was never a contender for a teaching position.

See the inferior line of the tendon, there... )

So how'd it go for you? Your horse win?

posted to [livejournal.com profile] go100 today. For their "Phobia" challenge. There are actually two phobias in this drabble, only one was required. I'm an overachiever! (I have both of them, a little)

Title: Immersion Therapy
Fandom: Good Omens
Words: 100
Rating: PG
Challenge: Phobia
characters: Crowley and Aziraphale

(Only the down ones affected him this way.) )

These two were done back in August when [livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth hosted a two-minute-fic challenge: two minutes from the time you see the prompts, which were the titles of books grabbed at random from her shelves. I linked to them here but never actually posted them. Call it archiving.

Fear of Flying
Fandom: Good Omens
Words: 137
Rating: PG for a little gore.

I had nothing to do with it! )

Remembrance of Things Past
Fandom: Harry Potter
Words: 175
Rating: PG for some very creepy and unpleasant slashy suggestion.

Knowledge bred in the bone. )
