Wow.
Walk away for a day and...I am completely overwhelmed by the response to that Dark Ages Aziraphale/Crowley tale, "Amid the Sacred Wreck" has gotten, especially at
lower_tadfield. Who knew so many people were wanting a story like that? But it's not quantity of response, really, it's quality. People have had such sweet things to say. I have to get better about accepting compliments more articulately and not just looking down at the floor going, "aww..."
And now
quantum_witch has posted an illustration. And what an illustration it is! Hot damn.
(PG-13ish, with a much more intense suggestion. Heads up for teh slasheh and more than a bit of teh kinkeh. Definitely goes with the story, which answers such questions as 'why are they dressed like that?' and 'what's up with the dagger? Yow.')
LJ version
Deviant Art version
Have I mentioned how I think a response to a work that is an another creative work is just about the highest honor any kind of artist/writer/whatever can receive, and this kind of shooting-inspiration-back-and-forth-like-pinball interaction is one of THE greatest things about fandom as a whole?
I can't thank you enough, sweetie.

Date: 2005-07-24 01:14 am (UTC)I'm still just really, really stunned, in the best possible way. Can't promise I can keep it coming (heh) but I shall certainly persist in trying. The rewards of success are immense. :)
