vulgarweedIllinois could be the fifth state to legislate civil unions for gay couples with the same legal rights as marriage. Bill passes out of state House committee 5-4.
Is it a weaselmouth copout? Yes. Will it grant real legal protections that are important to real people right now? Also yes. Will it establish a foothold of civility and human decency in our fair state while we wait for the bigots to fuckin' die off, already? Yes.
