Eeeyeeeeeeah booyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeee!
Jul. 18th, 2008 11:41 pmI'll be sporadic online this weekend, 'cause it's Pitchfork fest time. For me it's (a) work-related, (b) a buttload of music and (c) a 10-minute walk from my house. Oh my GOD I had fun tonight. Even lowered myself to a Stupid Ex-Girlfriend Trick (called him 3 times and each time left about a minute of PUBLIC ENEMY LIVE HOLY SHIT on his voicemail because it was JUST THAT FUCKING AWESOME. The modern version of a "wish you were here" postcard).
Although I am not generally a huge hip-hop person, somewhere in me is a massive rant about what PE sounded and felt like when I was an intern in NYC summer and fall of '88, the first time I ever lived in that city on its own terms--at $5 an hour, no money from home--instead of just being a regular visitor. My stars, I wanted The Revolution so bad, and I wanted it to sound just like that. Well, that and early Sonic Youth combined.
In the meantime,
cat_latin has written Good Omens/Torchwood crossover smut! Equinox (Crowley/Jack, Ianto/Aziraphale, NC-17).
And the Good Omens Kink Meme still exists, although it's slow as molasses.(I've written three! Y'all do your parts!)
