The Middle Distance

I'm a bit disillusioned with protesting. I was in the big student march in sydney just before the government completely failed to pay any attention and went into Iraq. It was pretty much just a day off school to walk through the city, splash around in the big fountain and yell HOWARD IS A WANKER *clap clap, clap clap, clap!* at the top of your voice. It didn't accomplish jack shit.

Oh, you need to have protests, just to keep checking that you can. It's a kind of freedom barometer. But nobody ever pays attention until it's too late.
